Online Lesson Information
Finding the right teacher can be difficult, and sometimes our schedules do not allow for easy traveling! Due to COVID-19, I started working in remote lessons with private students in March 2020. Online lessons do not sacrifice quality, and provide a convenient method for students who live in other states or prefer to learn in their own home. Zoom is a fantastic platform for online learning, and can be downloaded for free to any device. It is very user-friendly, and your first lesson will provide extra time for setting up and discussing the platform. Practice Journals will be provided via Google Docs in order to facilitate communication that would normally be written down!
Online lessons will be permanently available as an option for all students. They are a fantastic way to avoid missing a lesson when life gets the best of us—no more calling in a panic because someone can’t get a ride there! I will also be offering them for all students out of state or who are traveling.

Tips for Success
I recommend using Zoom on a laptop if possible, though a phone or tablet will also work! The laptop provides more options for sound settings, which will allow for the best experience possible. Deselecting “Automatically adjust microphone volume,” enabling the option for “Original Sound” in advanced settings will allow for better quality. Other settings will be shown in your first lesson!
Record yourself outside of the lesson! Working on a particularly loud piece? Having a great voice day? Share that with me by taking a recording that we can discuss live in your lesson.
Choose your space wisely! Picking a quiet place in your house where you have the room to move around and make music freely will encourage the best possible time.
