Services
Voice Lessons
Voice lessons are offered on a weekly basis, in 30 or 60-minute slots. All genres are welcome, with a particular focus on contemporary music. Students can expect to work on a variety of repertoire, chosen by the student and the teacher, in order to provide a comprehensive approach. Many fundamental issues with the voice stem from confidence and tension; by approaching the voice with a focus on breath and body awareness, a mindful experience of singing is possible.
Piano Lessons
Piano lessons are offered on a weekly basis, in 30 or 60-minute slots. Christie teaches both in a traditional solo approach, as well as teaching students the basics of accompaniment and chords in order to play in a collaborative setting. Lessons are also available for singers and other musicians who would like to have functional skills for rehearsing. Christie primarily focuses on beginner and intermediate piano students.
Guitar & Ukulele Lessons
Lessons are offered on a weekly basis in 30 minute slots. Guitar and ukulele lessons are a fun option for students who enjoy singing or making music, but prefer the versatility and portable nature of this instrument! Christie offers a beginner-friendly approach to learning these instruments--whether you want to dazzle the audience at an open-mic, or lead campfire tunes for the family, this is a great option for any individual.
Songwriting Lessons
Songwriting lessons are offered on a weekly basis in 60 minute time slots. Students can expect to work with Christie in understanding song structure, lyric writing, music theory, and the process of composing instrumental and vocal pieces. Students of all experience levels are welcome to explore this option! Songwriting is a fantastic way to take music-making to the next level.
Music Theory Tutoring
With the increased popularity of AP Music Theory, as well as strenuous college theory classes, private tutoring is a great option for high school and college students who desire a personalized approach to learning that sometimes gets lost in the classroom. Sessions can be a one-off purchase, or as frequent as the student needs to feel caught up, with flexible scheduling to accommodate acing an upcoming test or audition. Group rates and one-on-one sessions are available.
